To create a bootable USB drive

You have a few options depending on your preferences and the specific operating system you are using. In your case, since you mentioned that you prefer using software and your desired operating systems are Windows and Linux, I will provide instructions on creating a bootable USB using Rufus, Poweriso, and universal USB  popular software for this purpose.

1. Download Rufus: Firstly, you will need to download Rufus. You can do this by visiting the official Rufus website and downloading the appropriate version for your operating system.

2. Install Rufus: Once the download is complete, proceed with the installation of Rufus on your computer. Follow the on-screen prompts to install the software.

3. Connect the USB drive: Connect your 32GB USB drive to your computer's USB port.

4. Run Rufus: Launch Rufus on your computer. You may be prompted for administrative rights, so provide the necessary permissions.

5. Select the USB drive: In the Rufus window, you will see a "Device" drop-down menu. Click on it and select your connected USB drive from the list of available devices.

6. Choose the bootable ISO file: Locate the ISO file of the operating system you wish to create a bootable USB. Click on the "Select" button next to the "Boot selection" section in Rufus and browse for the ISO file on your computer.

7. Select the partition scheme and target system type: In the "Partition scheme" section, choose the appropriate scheme based on your target system (e.g., MBR for BIOS or UEFI, GPT for UEFI only). Leave the "File system" and "Cluster size" options as default, unless you have specific requirements.

8. Set the volume label and format options: You can optionally provide a name for your USB drive by entering a label in the "Volume label" field. Ensure that the "Quick format" and "Create a bootable disk using" options are checked.

9. Create the bootable USB: Once you have configured the necessary options, click on the "Start" button in Rufus to begin the process of creating the bootable USB. Please note that this process will erase all existing data on the USB drive, so ensure you have backed up any important files.

10. Wait for the process to complete:

Rufus will now format the USB drive and copy the necessary files from the ISO. The time required for this process may vary depending on the size of the ISO file and the speed of your computer.

11. Eject the USB drive: Once Rufus has finished creating the bootable USB, you will receive a notification. Safely eject the USB drive from your computer.
